About me

A headshot of Kristen smiling. She has brown and purple curly hair and is standing in front of a bright pink azalea bush.
After graduating from the University of Florida, I spent four years living abroad in Hiroshima, Japan. During this time, I taught English at a high school, studied design and development in my spare moments, and explored new places whenever possible. It was during my stay in Japan that I rediscovered my passion for creativity and technology, ultimately leading me to pursue UX and visual design. As a former teacher and perpetual learner, I continuously seek opportunities to evolve both as a designer and as an individual.

My Design Values

  • Design for everyoneDigital accessibility should be a priority and not an afterthought. When we design with inclusivity in mind, everyone wins.
  • Every single pixel mattersI'm passionate about what I do, so I take a lot of pride in my work. It's always worthwhile to put forth the extra effort to be precise and organized, and I find a lot of joy in doing so as well!
  • It's not enough to follow your gutAs much as I want to trust my design intuition, I'm aware that it alone cannot support design decisions. Data and research are the most important considerations when making decisions during the design process.
